How'r yinz doone?
We are thrilled to be welcoming you to campus shortly! Here's a quick note about laundry:

Please remember to bring the following: (1) Laundry Basket/Bag; (2) High-Efficiency Laundry Detergent — NO PODS, NO POWDER; (3) Quarters — Hopefully, these aren't needed; but, they are hard to get while on-campus. So, bring tenish dollars worth, if possible; (4) Dryer-sheets, if desired.

There are designated days for us to do laundry, separated by hall. We are sharing the facilities with the Japanese students so be mindful be remove your items when they are done—surely by the end of each day. If you could please organize laundry by your suites, that would be immensely helpful.

Also, a quick note about leaving home and technology behind--
We staff members understand that for some of you, this will be your first time away from home. Leaving your phone behind makes this experience all the more immersive, but perhaps, a little more difficult. To make yourself more comfortable, it might be helpful to bring a photograph of loved ones or your pets. An old book couldn't hurt either. I've found it's the little things that help the most—the goal is not to feel at home, just connected to it. (See Jams' post below about epistulae). I'm sure that there will be loved ones in your community rooting for you every step of the way; unplug, make 'em proud, and make the most of this once in a lifetime experience! And, have no fear—we have a lararium. Your household gods—although eagerly waiting your return—will be wholly appeased for these next few weeks.

And why not, more Benji lore--

Favorite Artists: Alex Katz, Grant Wood, Alex Colville.
Favorite Author: John Williams (Stoner, not Star Wars).
Favorite Ancient Monument: Tomb of Eurysaces.

Thanks so much! Can't wait to meet you all soon xx. —Benji
